Scholarship Application Process

To apply for a scholarship you can download all of the forms, complete them and mail all information to the AKEF Scholarship Committee at the address below (1 - Apply Offline). Or you can complete your application quicker by applying online (2 - Online Application). All of your information will be forwarded electronically to the AKEF Scholarship Committee.

​Eligibility

High School Seniors:

• Currently enrolled in your final year of high school
• Accepted or awaiting acceptance into a post-secondary institution

Students currently enrolled in a university, college, or professional training program:

• Must be enrolled at the time of receiving the scholarship 
• Must be in good standing with the institution at the time the scholarship is awarded
• Must be enrolled as a full time-student or meet the requirements of a professional training program
• Must be twenty-five years of age or younger

​Award Requirements

• Provide proof of enrollment at a post secondary institution of higher education (college, university, or professional training program)
• Provide a copy of your current transcript or grade report
• Provide a completed AKEF application
• Submit three signed letters of support from persons not related to you who can speak to your academics, hard work and service (e.g., teachers, professors, professionals, counselors, mentors, community leaders, mentors, or faith leaders). The letter must include the person’s contact information (email address and phone number)
• Apply each year you wish to be considered for a scholarship
• Applicants must submit complete application packets. Incomplete packets will not be considered

​Deadline

• The application period opens September 1st of each year.  The application process will close on December 31st of each year. Applications received after the deadline will not be reviewed or returned by the AKEF Scholarship Committee

​Annual Requirements

• Scholarship recipients must apply for scholarships each year as long as you maintain the requirements above for students attending a post-secondary educational institution or professional training program.
• Every student will have to re-apply for scholarships annually to be considered.
