Founder's Message
Lloyd Bryant Bullard, M.Ed., Founder & Emeritus Board Member, Angie Kennedy Educational Foundation, son of Angie Kennedy
My motivation to establish the Angie Kennedy Educational Foundation started soon after the death of my beloved grandmother Angie Kennedy, who I lovingly refer to as “Mama,” in April of 2006. Mama was extremely family-centered, which was evident by how proud she was of the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She constantly encouraged them to do their best and she had an adage to fit almost any situation. Finding a way to honor Mama’s life was a “no brainer” for me. Mama’s entire life was focused on working hard to create a better life for her family and that’s exactly what she did. Because of her hard work and sacrifices, her descendants are experiencing a better quality of life than what would have been predicted based on her meager beginnings. Establishing the Angie Kennedy Educational Foundation was the most appropriate and fitting way to honor Mama’s life and commitment to encouraging the development of young people through hard work, service, and education. |
